Take your curiosity to new heights at Girl Scout Aviation Day with Chicago Area 99s! This exciting hands-on experience gives Girl Scouts the opportunity to explore the world of aviation, meet inspiring women in the field, and learn how airplanes take flight. During this interactive day, Girl Scouts will discover the science behind flying and get an inside look at aviation careers. Participants will learn how pilots communicate in the air, take part in a mechanics and navigation workshop, and explore the controls that help different aircraft soar through the sky. Girls will also have the chance to explore various aircraft up close, take photos, and even step inside an MD-80 airplane. The adventure continues with a realistic flight simulator experience, the same type used to train real pilots! Girl Scouts will also meet Jet the Dog, Lewis University’s beloved aviation mascot. This is a fantastic opportunity for girls interested in STEM, aviation, and future career exploration to learn directly from professionals and experience aviation firsthand. Lunch is provided.
