About this event

Description

It’s American Chocolate Week! Join us as we explore the history and natural history of the cacao pod. Once considered more valuable than gold in Mesoamerica, later guarded as a royal state secret in Europe, and even responsible for the accidental creation of America’s most popular cookie, cacao has journeyed from a frothy, bitter drink to the iconic Hershey’s bar. After the presentation, indulge in a tasting experience featuring chocolate from bean to bar, along with historic cocoa recipes. Isle a la Cache Museum is an accessible building.
