About this event
Coding, Design & Robotics FIRST LEGO League Challenge is an exciting, team-based LEGO Robotics experience where students design, build, program, research, and compete while solving real-world problems. Participants work together in four key areas: Robot Game: Students design, build, and program an autonomous LEGO® robot to complete missions on the official FIRST LEGO League Challenge field. Robot Design: Teams explain their engineering process, robot strategy, attachments, programming, testing, and improvements. Innovation Project: Students research a real-world problem related to the season theme, develop an innovative solution, and present their ideas to judges. Core Values: Students practice teamwork, collaboration, inclusion, discovery, innovation, impact, and fun throughout the season. Every year, FIRST® LEGO® League introduces a new Challenge based on a real-world scientific or engineering theme. In FIRST LEGO League Challenge, students build on their STEM skills through a more advanced competition experience. Working in teams, students use LEGO® Education SPIKE Prime to engineer and program their robot, develop strategies for completing Robot Game missions, test and refine their designs, conduct research for the Innovation Project, and prepare to present their work at a FIRST LEGO League event. Throughout the program, students strengthen skills in coding, engineering design, problem-solving, research, communication, teamwork, and project management. Program Length: 16 weeks This year’s theme: BIOGLOW™ During the BIOGLOW™ season, teams will explore a new real-world STEM challenge connected to the season theme while designing innovative solutions and applying their engineering and programming skills through the Robot Game.
