About this event
Enjoy the benefits of a longer, consistent practice with this twelve-week course. In this gentle yoga class for a healthy back, participants will learn an evidence-based yoga movement practice to maintain and/or improve back strength and flexibility and reduce low back pain. Together with breath and specific movements, you will stretch and strengthen muscles, reduce muscular tension, build flexibility and strength, and improve balance and bone strength. Bring your own yoga mat and two firm blankets such as a military blanket (dense wool) or yoga blanket. Some positioning foam blocks and cushions/bolsters will be provided by the instructor. Class skips 4/20 and 5/25. Instructor Patti (Prema) Kristiansen is a Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) and Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) who brings over thirty years of therapeutic practice and tailors each class to individual needs as each person has their own "body story" such as old injuries, joint limitations, etc.
