This class is open to all acoustic instrument players (fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass, cello, flute, whistle, accordion, concertina, etc.) who want to practice playing traditional tunes in a slow and supportive setting. Songs will include folk music from Celtic, Old-Time, Quebecois, and Cape Breton traditions. The session is geared toward intermediate beginners who can play basic scales and simple chord structures, or more advanced musicians wanting to learn new repertoire at a slower pace. Tunes will be taught mostly by ear with sheet music/chords provided as visual support. Class skips 12/17, 12/24, 12/31. Instructor Resa Randolph is a local musician, teacher, and artist.
