Professional ceramic artist Randy Fein guides a creative journey into the world of clay for both new or returning students. Whether you want to create functional pottery or simply imaginative pieces, this class offers the tools and guidance to bring your ideas to life. Covers basic skills on the potter's wheel and how to create beautiful hand-built servingware including decorative platters, bowls, drinking vessels, and more. A variety of low-fire glaze techniques will be explored to complete your unique clay works. The first three weeks of classes meet 2x/week. Each class builds on the other, so it's recommended to attend all classes. Course fee includes clay and glazes to complete your pottery. Class meets: 10/7, 10/9, 10/14, 10/16 (work in wet clay), 10/28, 10/30 (glaze), and 11/6 (pick up work and paint sculptures). NO classes 10/21, 10/23, and 11/4. Instructor Randy Fein is an award-winning ceramic artist. She has found her way with clay for more than 40 years, producing original one-of-a-kind pottery, commissioned tile installations, and clay sculptures. She has conducted over 100 artist-in-resident programs in public schools throughout Maine and has taught at Unity College in Maine; Castleton State College in Vermont; and Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
