Learn about edible and medicinal wild plants commonly found in the spring. We will be looking for and examining nutritious greens, their uses, and their niche in the local ecology. Class will meet near the windmill behind Camden Hills Regional High School. Boots or waterproof footwear recommended. Instructor David Spahr is a naturalist, photographer, and forest farmer who has collected, photographed, and eaten wild mushrooms for thirty-five years. He is a member of the Maine Mycological Association and maintains a website devoted to the subject, www.mushroom-collecting.com. He is currently writing a book on foraging.
