This program ensures that public safety professionals, healthcare providers, and others with a duty to respond have the knowledge and skills necessary to address breathing and cardiac emergencies. It does NOT contain a First Aid component. Updated content meets/exceeds the recommendations of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), is consistent with the CPR and ECC Guidelines established by the American Heart Association and other resuscitation councils around the world, and is accepted for continuing education credit by CAPCE and NREMT for EMS personnel, and by AGD/PACE for dental providers; the State of Maine accepts the program’s credits for licensing requirements. Clear, concise, and current information on what signs to look for and what treatment steps to take, including CPR and AED use, bloodborne and airborne disease precautions (including COVID-19), and team-based resuscitation. Instructor Andrew Eckman recently retired after 45 years in emergency services (police, fire, EMS, emergency management, executive protection, and corporate security). He has been a medical instructor for more than 35 years and has trained several thousand participants in various life-saving skills.
