About this event
Description
This workshop will help you kickstart a rich, enjoyable journaling practice. Loosely inspired by the The Bullet Journal Method—a flexible system that uses simple tools like lists, indexes, symbols, and collections to organize thoughts, goals, and daily life—we’ll expand the concept by adding visual and artistic elements.
Together, we’ll combine practical organization with playful creativity to create “life books”: personal journals that capture everyday moments, meaningful memories, and the things we love.
Art techniques will include collage, mark-making, painting, blind contour drawing, and handmade journal elements. Journaling techniques will include writing prompts, lists, indexes, subject pages, and personalized layouts designed to support your own unique practice.
The goal is to discover a journaling method that feels natural and inspiring to you—one that brings joy, reflection, and creative discovery day by day. All levels are welcome, from first-time journalers to experienced artists or writers looking to try something new.
Paints and brushes will be provided, but please bring the following:
- Any collage materials you’re willing to share
- Glue (for your personal use)
- Any favorite markers, pencils, or other mark-making tools (for your personal use)
- A journal — truly, anything will work! If you’d like recommendations, some favorites include the Vanrtto 8x8 Hardcover Sketchbook, Moleskine Art Sketchbook 5 x 8.25, or Moleskine Art Sketch Hardcover Pocket 3.5 x 5.5 (all available on Amazon).
