About this event
Middle School | Six-Week Enrichment Experience What would you do with $10,000? Save it? Spend it? Invest it? In Money 101, Middle School students will receive a simulated $10,000 and be challenged to discover what it really means to make smart decisions with money. Over six interactive weeks, students will explore the financial concepts they’ll use throughout their lives—from budgeting and saving to compound growth, investing, risk, diversification, and the stock market. But this isn’t a lecture series! Students will learn by making decisions, tackling real-world money challenges, researching companies, and ultimately building and managing their own simulated investment portfolio. They’ll explore questions such as: What actually happens when you buy a stock? How can money grow over time? What makes one investment riskier than another? Why does starting to save early matter? What does it mean to diversify? And what would YOU do with $10,000? As their financial knowledge grows, students will put it into practice—making choices, evaluating risk, tracking their simulated investments, and seeing how those decisions play out. The six-week experience culminates in the $10,000 Challenge, where students will share their investment strategies, reflect on their portfolio decisions, and put their new financial vocabulary and knowledge to work. The goal isn't to tell students what to invest in. It's to give them something much more valuable: an early understanding of how money works and the confidence to begin making informed financial decisions. Money is something they'll use for the rest of their lives. Why not give them a head start? Dates as Follows: Nov 10, 17, 24 Dec 1, 8, 15 Make-up day: Dec 22nd
