Description
Love croissants? Learn to make them at home! We'll cover making laminated dough and use it to make Kouign Amann and morning buns. It may not be easy to pronounce at first glance, and it may take some practice to make perfectly, but once you can say it (kween uh·man) and learn the technique to create laminated dough, you'll experience a new level of baking bliss. There's a reason that this classic Breton pastry is thrilling the world, and you can be part of the trend when you learn to make this buttery, salty and sweet, flaky delight.
All ingredients, aprons and equipment are included in the registration and materials fee. Just bring yourself and a to-go container for your creations! Recipes and equipment suggestions will be provided in class.
What can you expect from our class together?
- The class is fully interactive, so feel free to ask questions as we go.
- Great results go beyond the recipe. Learn the basics of cooking: mise en place, proper techniques, essential equipment, ingredients, and kitchen safety
- Please tie back long hair; we'll cook and serve family-style at the end.
- Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes as you will be standing & working in the kitchen.
- Be prepared to work in teams of 2-4, depending on class size.
- Alert your instructor to any food allergies BEFORE the day of class so we can plan accordingly.
