Mini Break Day Camp: Animal Architecture
Thursday, April 9
From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
From webs and hives to dens and dams, animals are expert builders! At Animal Architecture, campers will explore how and why local animals create structures. We even have one of the top animal architects building right here in the Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary—the busy beaver! Through outdoor adventures in the Sanctuary and hands-on activities with our nature collections, youth will get an up-close look at the clever ways animals engineer structures. Specific activities will depend on outdoor conditions.
Children should dress for the weather including boots, rainpants/snowpants, jacket, scarf, hat, and mittens/gloves. Please also bring a snack, lunch (no nuts!), water bottle, indoor shoes, and an extra pair of socks.
Camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Early dropoff and late pickup is not available. Doors will open at 8:50 a.m. and all campers must be picked up by 4:10 p.m.
This program takes place at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre.
