Course Description – 15 hours total
This comprehensive hybrid course provides both online (7hours) and hands-on (8 hours) in-depth training on both the Meritor EX+ Air Disc Brakes and Meritor Q / Q+ Cam Brake systems. The curriculum covers critical subject areas including component identification, system operation, preventive maintenance procedures, diagnostics, and repair techniques for air disc brakes. Additionally, students will gain hands-on experience with Q Series and Q+ brakes, focusing on cam brake and automatic slack adjuster system operation, detailed disassembly and assembly procedures, as well as advanced diagnostics and preventative maintenance of cam brakes.
As a hybrid learning experience, this course combines instructor-led sessions with a series of mandatory online individual study modules that must be completed prior to the start of in-person instruction. These online prerequisite courses are designed to ensure all participants enter the classroom with a strong foundational understanding of brake systems and safety protocols.
All students who register for the hands-on training class held on Monday May 4, 2026 will be emailed detailed instructions on how to access and complete the online portion of this class.
