Plan to get wet, dirty and completely immersed in the world of field research. This camp offers a true field experience as you spend each day using the tools Museum researchers use to investigate the natural world of Prairie Ridge Ecostation. We will work with researchers to investigate a new topic daily such as geology, herpetology, entomology and more. You will learn to observe, identify and collect data as you participate in hands-on experiments such as measuring turtles found in the pond and collecting rocks with our geologist. All children must be dropped off and picked up at Prairie Ridge Ecostation; the field station of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. No transportation is available between the Museum and Prairie Ridge Ecostation. Each child can enroll in up to 2 weeks of camp. All cancellations, registration for more than 2 camps per child, or incorrect grade level registrations incur a $30.00 processing fee per camp.
