Prince George Parks and Recreation is proud to partner with U. S. Fish and Wildlife Services to offer programming at the James River National Wildlife Refuge in Prince George. Reserve your spot to paddle the tranquil waters along James River National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, April 25, 2026, (RAIN DATE Sunday April 26) from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. This is a self-guided journey along Powell Creek. Enjoy the journey through this wild and historically rich part of Prince George County.

Canoeing/kayaking experience recommended. Participants must be over 12 years of age. Anyone under 18 years of age must participate with a parent or legal guardian. This free event is sponsored by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Prince George County Parks and Recreation Department.
This activity has limited capacity. Registration begins March 2, 2026, and ends April 23, 2026, at noon (or until full). Register online ONLY. Pre-registration is required.
