The USS Albacore has been a prime Seacoast attraction since 1985, but why is she here and what is her backstory? Join us at Albacore Park to hear her history. Learn about the importance of this unique submarine, her contributions to the Navy, and her journey from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard back to Portsmouth 41 years ago. Weather permitting, the Albacore will be open to viewing. The gift shop will be open during this event. Kim Sanborn worked at Kittery Historical & Naval Museum for 11 years, the last 6 as its Director. In 2023, she joined the team at Albacore Park as the Store Manager. Her roots run deep in Kittery and Shipyard history, as her family has been here for generations. Helping other learn about our amazing local history has been a passion of hers for many years.
