These compact wooden chests held personal treasures like letters from home, photographs, carving tools, and sewing kits, and often doubled as a small writing desk in tight shipboard quarters. In this two-day, hands-on workshop, you’ll build your own maritime ditty box while developing foundational table saw skills. You’ll learn to use a crosscut sled for square edges, a miter gauge for precise angles, and a dado stack with a custom box-joint jig to create strong, interlocking corners. By the end of the weekend, you’ll leave with a sturdy, handcrafted ditty box and the confidence to safely take on your next woodworking project.
