The course is led by Joel Arrington, who has worked directly with Brandon Davis and Josh Colvin over years of workshops and close partnership to streamline these building processes and designs. Working alongside co-instructor Tyler Johnson, Joel ensures every builder receives expert supervision while guaranteeing sound construction, proper technique, and a smooth path from flat sheets of plywood to a finished hull. Participants may select any kit from Kit Boats Co., including: SCAMP | Old Salt | Portage Pram | Scout 10 | Scout 14 | Rio Drift Boat To accommodate varying build scopes and schedules, the workshop is offered in flexible blocks: Two-Week Blocks: Great for smaller craft or completing major structural milestones. Full Six-Week Takeover: Recommended for larger builds, comprehensive assembly, and detailed finish work. This session is for the first 2-week block. Special Recommendation: Due to the complexity and scale of the SCAMP and Old Salt, builders of these models are recommended to register for the full six weeks Tuition covers lead instruction, shop access, specialized boatbuilding machinery, and shop tools.
