About this event
This is an introductory course for anyone interested in exploring the conceptual roots of artisan geometry and who desires to work through the Jim Tolpin book By Hound & Eye with guidance. We will take a deep dive into the steps and process of learning to understand artisan geometry with the goal of freeing your design sense and beginning to develop your eye. Many of us feel overwhelmed by the prospect of having to generate our own ideas into beautiful and functional furniture. With this two day course, students will see that getting started is more straightforward than it feels. We will work through the exercises in the book together, answering design and geometry questions along the way. Students may also choose to sketch their own design thoughts and ask questions as time allows. Required Tools: Pencil Paper or notepad Copy of By Hound & Eye - that you are willing to write and draw in (also available for purchase in the classroom) Prerequisites Bring enthusiasm and an open mind. This class is designed for complete novices up through experienced woodworkers who would like to tune up their skills.
