About this event
With the US Office of Coast Survey (NOAA) phasing out traditional navigational charts by the end of 2024, the era of raster and paper charts is drawing to a close. This shift makes Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs) essential for all US waters. But did you know ENCs aren’t usable as charts until displayed in specialized software? Join us for an engaging, two-part hands-on session where you'll discover what you need to confidently navigate in this digital-only charting era. Learn where to find official ENCs and explore options for creating an electronic navigation system that ensures safe, reliable voyages—all without breaking the bank. In-person session | Limited spots available This class is in person at the Northwest Maritime campus. 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: • Prerequisites: None • Platform: In-person at the NWM Campus • Teaching style: This class consists of a presentation followed by interactive discussions and a Q&A session. • Duration: 4 hour session broken up with a lunch break • Notes: Please watch for a reminder email that will be sent one week before class.
