The Junior Competitive Squad is designed for athletes who are interested in advancing their lifesaving sport skills within a competitive training environment. Participants will refine event-specific techniques, develop race strategies, and build the strength, endurance, and athleticism required for local and provincial competition.
This program is intended for dedicated athletes who are ready to take the next step in their lifesaving sport development and commit to regular training. Athletes will participate in structured pool practices focused on improving swimming performance, event execution, and transition skills, while also incorporating independent dryland and running workouts to support overall athletic development. Training volumes may include 12 to 15 kilometres of swimming per week, with an emphasis on increasing speed, endurance, strength, and competitive performance in lifesaving sport events.
Prerequisites: Previous participation with a Swim Team or participation in the Surfers Program strongly recommended.
