Utilizing the comprehensive amenities at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre, our licensed preschool provides a warm, welcoming, and nurturing early learning environment that promotes the well-being and overall development of each child.
In our play-based, child-centered program, experienced and qualified educators use an emergent curriculum with open-ended activities, enriching experiences, and free play-time to support each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
Our curriculum is informed by the British Columbia Early Learning Framework. The framework focuses on children from birth to Grade 3 and provides a continuum of learning as children transition between early learning programs and elementary school.
Throughout the school year, we included three “Adventure Days” at PCCC that will require parent participation for some: we will be swimming, skating, and visiting the library. In addition, we offer a fieldtrip in the spring.
We are welcoming registered families to CITY Preschool through Open House sessions prior to the start of the school year. During the Open House, we will review the program, introduce the staff team, and answer questions.

A monthly payment option is available on an unequal payment schedule that is based on the number of sessions each month. The first month payment is due when registering. Additional fees will be processed on the first of every month. To process online monthly payments your credit card expiry date must be July 2025 or later. Please note that program fees are based on external funding through the provincial government and maybe subject to change.
Our program is part of the Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative offered through the Government of BC. In addition, you may qualify for the income-tested Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB). Qualifying families can apply for ACCB online at https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/family-social-supports
Please contact City Preschool prior to September if you require a paper-based Child Care Arrangement form for your ACCB application.

Please note your child can only attend 1 licensed preschool session per day as per Fraser Heath Licensing
We require 30 days written notice to withdraw from the program. Email citypreschool@portcoquitlam.ca . Withdrawals are not permitted for the months of December, March, May, and June.
City Preschool follows SD43 schedule. No classes on SD43 Pro-D Days, Statutory Holidays, and school breaks.
