Sealing the paint on your tote bag is a crucial step as heat setting. The purpose of this process is that the paint sticks better to the fabric, and doesn’t come off or fade over time. To heat set your painted tote bag, follow these steps.

1. Allow paint to dry completely for at least 24 hours before heat setting
2. Place a parchment paper or a thin cloth over the painted area to protect it
3. Set the iron to medium, ensuring there is no steam
4. Set your iron over the protected painted area for 3-5 mins, moving it constantly to avoid scorching
5. Pay extra attention to areas with thicker paint application.
