However, you must be over the age of 21 to apply for an a Firearms Control Card from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations. After registering you will receive and email with instructions for the class. This course will cover: Basic firearms safety and shooting concepts Defensive shooting concepts Positional shooting skills Holster drawing concepts Advanced shooting tips Illinois Conceal Carry Act Illinois Use of Force Act What to do before, during and after a defensive shooting encounter. Shooting qualifications location (TBD) Students will be required to pass a 50 round shooting qualification There is a $35 cancellation fee for all refunds and a $35 transfer fee for any rescheduling request.
