Description
The program is offered through Diamond Dogz of Arizona. This course will take part in the auditorium room. Instructors work with students and their own dog to learn the skills necessary to become a certified hearing service dog team as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Hearing Dogs alert their owners to important sounds both in the home and in public. Sounds may include the door, phone, dropped items, name being called, fire alarm, running water, approaching people/cars, etc. Instruction includes obedience, sound work and information on Service Dog Laws. Proof of hearing loss is required prior to admission. Dogs are temperament tested prior to acceptance to ensure there are no aggressive dogs.
