About this event
Transform your old, unloved clothes into something brand new in Upcycling Sewing Camp. Campers will be asked to bring in an article of clothing—whether a faded t-shirt, a pair of jeans with a hole, or an old sweater—and learn how to upcycle it into a completely different item. From turning a t-shirt into a unique pillow, to making a stuffed animal or a pencil case, the chance to reuse and create something new are endless. Students will be taught valuable sewing techniques while encouraging students to think outside the box and design their own one-of-a-kind creations. Campers will also learn about textile waste and why upcycling is an important way to care for our planet. By the end of the week, students will have crafted a new item from their old clothes, and gained the confidence and skills to keep upcycling at home. It’s a creative, eco-friendly week full of making, designing, and reimagining! Molly Kane is a Primary Teacher at TPS and very excited to continue with the camp community.
