Interested in Working with Animals? Spend two action-packed days exploring real careers and work environments in animal care. Students will visit five unique settings—from veterinary clinics and pet care businesses to wildlife rescue and animal welfare organizations. Through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and behind-the-scenes tours, campers will step into the role of animal care professionals while learning about the skills, tools, and training needed for each career. Whether you love pets, wildlife, or farm animals, this camp will help you discover exciting career possibilities. Hands-On Experiences Include: View real x-rays, lab results and tour a surgical suite Practice bandaging, splinting, and suturing techniques Explore careers in large animal veterinary medicine Learn how veterinarians care for horses, cattle, and goats Learn about animal control and community responsibility Explore careers in grooming, boarding, daycare, and training Follow the journey from animal intake to adoption or reunification Use tools like stethoscopes, microscopes, and simulated ultrasound Listen to a horse’s heart and gut sounds Meet a live raptor and learn about wildlife rescue Discover how injured birds are treated and released Learn how to safely handle, bathe, and care for pets Clothing requirements for safety: ** Participants are required to wear closed toe shoes.
