This hands-on camp introduces students to the fundamentals of the building trades, equipping them with essential skills used by professionals in the industry. 🔹 Safety First – Learn proper safety procedures when working with tools and materials. 🔹 Measuring & Blueprint Reading – Understand how to read blueprints and accurately measure for construction projects. 🔹 Tool Use & Safety – Identify and safely use a variety of hand and power tools. 🔹 Material Recognition – Explore different types of building materials and their properties. 🔹 Construction Terminology – Learn the language of the construction industry. 🔹 Teamwork & Communication – Work collaboratively on projects, practicing problem-solving and communication skills. 🔹 Job Site Visit – Tour an active construction site, see professionals in action, and learn about career opportunities in the trades. Whether you're interested in a future career in construction or just love building things, this camp will give you a strong foundation in the trades while working on real-world projects in a fun, team-oriented environment! Clothing requirements for safety: ** Participants are required to wear long pants and shirts with a minimum short sleeve and steel-toed boots. Note: We want all interested students to be able to participate. If obtaining required safety gear, including steel-toed boots, is a concern, support may be available.
