Description
This fun, fast-paced workshop introduces students to writing topical monologue jokes in the style of late-night television. The class is conducted as if students are part of a real late-night show staff. Designed specifically for non-professional writers, this course is informative, supportive, and hands-on. The class blends instruction, viewing and analysis of professional examples, writing time, collaboration, performance, and studio production. Students will experience how comedy moves from idea → page → performance → camera and will leave each course with written material and recorded video content suitable for personal portfolios. The instructor or a local comedian/actor performs the material as a news anchor on camera. All filming will take place at TC Media studios, offering students exposure to studio workflows in an accessible, low-pressure environment. Under 14 must be accompanied by a parent.
