Kayaking can be a great activity to improve both our mental and physical health. This class will focus on learning fundamental strokes to get started kayaking and begin to build confidence on the water. The course covers knowledge about essential kayaking equipment and how to stay safe on the water. Participants will learn how to get on and off the water safely, followed by introduction to the core paddling skills such as forward and reverse strokes, turning, and stopping. By the end of the course, participants will have the basic skills to engage in short recreational trips to further explore kayaking as an activity to support their overall health. Instructor ONE Center Staff.
