About this event
The Pool Operator Level 2 focuses on regulatory standards for pool operation and chemical application principles in order to maintain balanced swimming pool water. Participants learn to problem solve and how to safely adjust swimming pool chemical levels in order to maintain a healthy and safe environment for bathers and staff. The course includes: - a through review of regulatory requirements and standards for the operation of aquatic facilities including: pools, spas, wading pools, and waterfronts - a review of the principles of balanced pool water and the step-by-step procedures pool operators should follow when making adjustments to chemical levels in aquatic facilities - an open forum for discussion and resolution of problems facing pool operators Prerequisite: Lifesaving Society Pool Operator Level 1 or equivalent. Required references: Lifesaving Society Pool Operations Workbook and Pool Operations Manual - a 100 page text outlining operating standards for public swimming pools in Ontario and explaining the mechanisms to ensure these standards are achieved.
