Tarot and the Wheel of Shadow Indigenous people who lived on our continent long ago formed a map of the moon’s yearly journey from shadow into light. They called it the Medicine Wheel. Over the years, tremendous losses were experienced by these people, making it difficult to see the light their ancestors had envisioned. The totems became images of deep shadow. In this course, those shadows are faced and personified through Tarot’s shadow cards, images that contain the potential for illumination as well as darkness. Those cards bridge the gap between light and shadow. They allow us, as was intended by the ancient people who designed the Medicine Wheel, to bask in the sun’s cyclical journey of increasing light and warmth.
