Aging is not simply decline. It is growth and evolution. This class explores life after retirement through isolation, environment, community engagement, and the role of social networks and service providers. We examine ideas from Ken Dychtwald, Stacy Torres, Louise Aronson, James Hillman, and others to better understand aging in society. Guest speakers provide local insight into Marin’s expanding older adult population and the role of ESCOM. Through guided discussion, students reflect on aging as active participation in community life. This class is generously discounted by the Anonymous Fund of the Marin Community Foundation.
