Join us outside behind the McTavish school as we paint a part of nature from life. This one-day workshop will show you how to set up and capture the beauty of nature in an impressionistic plein air style. No previous experience is required. Supply List: Oil paints. Any that you already have. At minimum, bring a bright yellow, ochre, bright red, alizarin crimson, white, any blue, any black and raw and burnt umber. Extra paint will be available if you are missing anything that we end up using. Brushes: Any that you already have. Painting surface. 8x10, 9x12 or 11x14 are ideal. Square is also an option at a similar size. Cloth or towels. Palette. Any flat palette (no liquid tray watercolour palettes) Linseed oil (any small container is plenty). Easel. Bring your own portable easel or borrow one from us. Personal items. We will have the benefit of a portable white canvas tent above us, but it is recommended that you still bring a hat, water, a comfy stool, a snack or anything else. Chairs, water and coffee will be available inside the school.
