Description
Spring is here and so are the herptiles! Spring and summer are excellent months to get outside and look for Virginia’s most secretive wildlife: reptiles and amphibians. Join an environmental educator on a hike to discover what herptiles call our local forests home and learn all the tips and tricks needed to spend your summer “herpin'”.Program information:
- Program is held outdoors.
- Guardians are required to accompany participants, no drop-offs.
- Hiking footwear is recommended. Trails have periodic benches for resting.
- It is recommended to dress participants in weather-appropriate clothing and bring a water bottle.
- Distance traveled will be between 0.75 and 1.5 miles.
- Outdoor surfaces traveled on in this program include: paved trails, dirt trails with roots and uneven surfaces, and creek beds.
- This program includes visual and tactile elements.
