Description

Children looking in a vernal poolInterested in nature and science and want to make an impact by contributing to real-world science while having fun? In each 4-week session we will: learn what it means to be a Citizen Scientist, explore the natural world, discover how to identify organisms, conduct experiments, and collect data to help contribute to ongoing real-world research activities. Participants will get to choose projects, conduct field work, and interact with professionals in the environmental field to gain a better understanding of what it means to do environmental science. Program occurs on the following Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: November 11th, November 18th, December 2nd, and December 9th.

Program Information:

  • Program is held indoors and outdoors
  • Hiking footwear is recommended
  • Trails have periodic benches for resting
  • Distance traveled will be between 1.5 and 3 miles

Outdoor surfaces traveled on in this program include gravel and dirt trails with roots and uneven surfaces, wetland areas with mud and roots, and steep hills.

This program includes visual, auditory and tactile elements.
