Description

Hike about 4 miles (2 miles up and back) along the Appomattox River Canal Trail. Find stone arches and old canals that reveal the rich history of this area while enjoying the views of this state designated scenic river and the its natural history. Afterwards, enjoy a short stroll through historic Petersburg to view the sights and enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local eatery. Fee includes transportation and interpretive guide. Lunch is purchased on your own.
