Summer Camp Childcare is all about fun, creating opportunities for children to play, create, learn, explore and spend time with friends. Each week includes up to 57 hours of camp activities led by fun and energetic camp counselors. Activities include crafts, sports, games, special visitors, fieldtrips and theme-focused special events. WHEN DOES CAMP TAKE PLACE? June 22 through Aug 25* 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday *Note: Camp will not take place on Tuesday, July 4 WHERE DOES CAMP TAKE PLACE? Ages 3 to 6* (Pre-K, Kindergarten and children entering First Grade), meet at Chehalem Community Center (501 West 2nd Street, Newberg). Note: Children must be able to use the restroom without assistance. Ages 6* to 12 (children entering Elementary School, through Fifth Grade) meet at Dundee Elementary Elementary School (1441 Deborah Road, Newberg). *Note: Children age six are automatically placed/enrolled at the Pre-K location (Community Center). Parents may request placement with the older age set (and sibling), which meet at Dundee Elementary. Snacks are offered twice daily. Weekly Activity Theme Calendars Campers participate in a variety of activities, games and crafts that focus on a weekly theme. Activity calendars will be available on the first day of each month at the camp location. Fieldtrips Join us for fieldtrips throughout the summer! Typical locations may include local CPRD playground parks/nature trails, Chehalem Aquatic and Fitness Center (for supervised swim), Newberg Public Library, local business tours and a trip to the beach! Staff Summer Camp CARE is operated by Chehalem Park and Recreation District, which is responsible for the hiring, training and education of qualified staff. The support of the recreation department enables this program to offer children a safe and fun camp experience, through access to our facilities, which may include gymnasiums, playing fields, pools, classrooms and equipment. Fees & Registration Note: Fees are based on daily attendance and not the number of hours attended each day. Summer Registration Fee: A one-time fee of $35 per child covers the entire summer season. This fee is not refundable. Full-time Rate Plan = 4 to 5 days per week $195 per week for Newberg and Dundee residents $215 per week for residents living outside the Newberg/Dundee area Part-time Rate Plan = 2 to 3 days per week $150 a week for Newberg and Dundee residents $170 a week for residents living outside the Newberg/Dundee area Daily Rate Plan* $60 per day, per child *Registration must be completed 10 days in advance of attending. For EDRC families, please use the following ID for Summer Childcare (THIS ID NUMBER IS DIFFERENT THAN SCHOOL YEAR CHILDCARE): JY100011 Families contract for a specific weekly schedule as indicated on the Enrollment Agreement Form. Payment for this contracted schedule is required every month whether or not your child attends, this enables us to pay staff a stable wage every week all year. No credits are given for sick or vacation days, holidays, staff training closure or closure due to inclement weather. Adding extra days - This only applies to part-time families. Any added days are contingent on prior agreement of days of care needed. When your family surpasses three days a week, you will be charged the full-time weekly rate. Payment Payment is always due in advance with no deduction for any absences, holidays or closures due to inclement weather, power outages or other situations beyond our control. Payments are due monthly as outlined in the Enrollment Agreement.
