Description

Sensory-friendly sessions are designed for participants who may benefit from a calmer, more predictable outdoor experience, including individuals who are neurodivergent or who prefer additional structure and support. These sessions emphasize consistent pacing, clear expectations, and a focus on sensory regulation rather than stimulation.
Participants are encouraged to attend with a caregiver, family member, or support person as appropriate. For participants who require supervision or assistance, a caregiver or support person must attend and remain with the participant for the duration of the session. This offering is not a therapeutic service or drop-off program but a guided outdoor experience designed to support comfort, choice, and agency in a natural setting.
Sessions typically involve up to approximately 1.5 miles of walking at a slow, relaxed pace, with frequent stops. Registration is required for participants. Caregivers or support persons attending in a supervisory role may attend at no additional cost and are not counted as additional participants.
