In this fun, creative class, you’ll learn how to turn your idea into a finished picture book—ready to delight young readers everywhere! We’ll cover what makes a great story, how long it should be, how to find and work with an illustrator, and what to know about book sizes, printing, and costs. You’ll also discover how to self-publish your picture book on sites like Amazon and Barnes & Noble. By the end, you’ll have the tools, insight, and inspiration to bring your story to life—page by page, picture by picture. The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. Lois Hoffman is a multi-creative and owner of The Happy Self-Publisher where she helps writers share their books with the world. She’s an award-winning author including books about writing and publishing, children’s picture books, and more. Her other passions include songwriting, juggling, collage art, and making a mean salsa from her sparkly kitchen in Newark, DE.
