4 Mondays, January 5 - 23, 1:00 - 3:00 pm Advanced Happimess in Pastel Class Taught by Judith Chamberlin, 18+ $ 108 Member / $ 119 Non-member This is an advanced pastel workshop for with students who have previously worked with the medium. In this class, students will examine various types of pastels and how they are used with water, alcohol and mixed media, and explore the large variety of sanded papers used in pastel painting. They will also look into the artistic dynamics used in painting, portraits, landscapes, seascapes, florals and still life. Judith will work individually with each artist on evaluating his or her artwork and determining the best way to enhance each composition. By the end of the classes, each student can expect to have a completed piece of artwork ready to be framed and hung. Students who have their own pastels should bring them to class. The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. Since early childhood, Judith always appreciated art. After college, she began taking workshops with many well-recognized artists. Loving color (and finger painting), she found pastels to be her favorite medium, and continued to explore artistic results using its vibrant colors.
