Ready for your closeup? Students enrolled in this class will explore what it’s like to be on-camera, exploring acting techniques, and building their skills each week. Led by Teaching Artists with ample experience on sets, this class will include instruction on commercial copy, TV/film scenes, creating characters, and technique. Each student will get to embrace their unique talents and create authentic content while learning what to expect on a Film/TV set. BBK classes begin with a mindful check in to build community and trust. Teaching Artists then guide students to create Ensemble Agreements, which set the tone for the classroom environment and expectations. Actors will always do a full body warm-up, including skill building and improv. Acting games will be played every week, changing frequently to keep students on their toes. Throughout the semester students will create their own tv/film characters, their own commercials, and will experience the magic of the cinema. At the end of the semester, there will be an invited open class where we share all we have learned about what it's like to be on camera.
