Students begin by exploring the fundamentals of cinematography. During this introductory phase, they put their learning into practice by experimenting with a range of shot types and camera movements. They then work together to develop storylines, before taking on different roles within the film crew in order to make their own films themselves. This filmmaking class strengthens collaboration, creativity, and confidence, encouraging students to take initiative and see projects through from concept to completion. It also enables them to develop a critical understanding of audiovisual media, to which they will be increasingly exposed as they grow up — whether through broadcast media or content on social networks.
