Description
We're sorry, but this class/activity is over. The last meeting was Saturday, March 25, 2023.
Students in this stage will develop stroke techniques in front crawl and back crawl, and will learn the breaststroke and butterfly kicks. Water safety will be reinforced through treading water and elementary backstroke.
To observe proper social distancing, our standard class size has been lowered and the certified swim instructor will be teaching from the pool deck.
Please note that children must be able to complete all prerequisites in order to qualify for this class, seen below.
Prerequisites:
Participants must be able to submerge in the water independently, and retrieve an object in chest-deep water. They must also be able to swim on their front and back for 10 yards each, exit the pool independently, roll from their back to front to back, and tread water for 30 seconds.
What Do I Need:
Participants must wear a bathing suit and bring a towel. Goggles and a kickboard are recommended but not required. Please note that sharing any items amongst participants will not be permitted.
