Karate is designed for personal growth with the added coordination of spirit, mind, and body. Students will work with a variety of conditioning exercises that build strength, stamina, and coordination. Students will be working individually on kihons (basics) and kata (forms). All sparing and partner practices WILL NOT be taking place in order to comply with social distancing and COVID agreements.
FOR YOUR SAFETY
We ask parents to check their child’s temperature before bringing their child to training. At a minimum but not limited to; children with fevers, coughing, sore throats, shortness of breath, sudden loss of taste or smell cannot participate in sessions until cleared by a medical professional or are healthy for 48 hours after symptoms.
Masks must be worn as designated by Pasco County ordinance while inside the YMCA building.
A verbal wellness check will be conducted when entering the building by staff. Sensei Kendrick will also conduct a verbal wellness check at the beginning of each session.
Ensure your child’s gear and equipment is sanitized before and after every session.
Provide your child with hand sanitizer for practices.
Notify the YMCA Sports Director or Sensei Kendrick immediately if your child becomes ill.

Prerequisites:
This class level is geared toward red belt students and up. Skill level to be determined by instructor.
What Do I Need:
Comfortable clothing, and a bottle of water.
