About this event
This Plein Air Watercolor class will teach students the techniques and skills necessary to paint outdoors using watercolor. Emphasizing direct observation and capturing natural light, students will learn how to paint landscapes and nature on location. The course will cover fundamental watercolor techniques, composition, and strategies for painting in the open air while overcoming challenges such as weather and changing light conditions. SUPPLY LIST: Watercolor Paints (tube or pan set – Daniel Smith recommended: Hansa Yellow Medium Pyrrol Red Aussie Red Gold Pyrrol Orange Quinnacridonne Violet Raw Umber Prussian Blue Manganese Blue Hue • Watercolor Brushes (mop brush size 10 or 8, round brush size 6-12). • Watercolor Paper (Cold-Press, 140 lb or 300 gsm preferred). • Palette (for mixing paint). • Water Container (for rinsing brushes). • Paper Towels (for blotting). • Portable Easel (lightweight and stable for outdoor use). • Sketchbook (for practice and studies). • Plein Air Setup (optional: portable stool, sun protection, etc.). • Arches 140lb cold press watercolor paper important
