The Monster Dash 5K & Trunk or Treat is more than just a race—it’s a full evening of Halloween fun for the whole family.

Runners and walkers can hit the 5K course in costume, compete in our Best Costume Contest, and then stick around after the race for a community Trunk or Treat featuring up to 75 decorated vehicles. Families can enjoy candy, music, food, activities, and our Best Decorated Car/Trunk Contest all in one place.

Whether you’re chasing a personal best, walking with friends, or just looking for a fun Halloween tradition, Monster Dash is designed to be welcoming, festive, and family-friendly. Plus, the first 100 registered runners receive an official event T-shirt.

Best of all, your registration supports the Navarre Youth Sports Association and helps us continue providing youth sports opportunities and improving facilities for local families.

MONSTER DASH 5K & TRUNK OR TREAT

Get ready to run, dress up, and have a frightfully fun night at the 2026 Monster Dash 5K & Trunk or Treat, hosted by the Navarre Youth Sports Association!

Join us on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the Navarre Soccer Complex for a family-friendly Halloween 5K followed by an evening of Trunk or Treat fun.

Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome, and costumes are highly encouraged! After crossing the finish line, stick around for decorated trunks, candy, music, food, activities, contests, and Halloween fun for the entire family.

The first 100 registered runners will receive an official Monster Dash 5K event T-shirt.

Proceeds from the Monster Dash 5K benefit the Navarre Youth Sports Association (NYSA) and help support youth sports programs and facilities in our community.

Saturday, October 24, 2026

4:00 PM – Runner check-in and race-day registration opens
4:45 PM – Runners begin lining up near the start area
4:50 PM – Welcome, announcements, and course/safety briefing
5:00 PM – Monster Dash 5K START
Following the 5K – Trunk or Treat opens for runners, families, and the community
Following the race – Race awards and Best Costume Contest
Evening – Best Decorated Car/Trunk Contest, candy, food, music, and family activities

Participants should plan to arrive at least 45–60 minutes before the 5:00 PM race start to allow time for parking, check-in, restroom use, and getting to the starting area.

  THE COURSE

The Monster Dash is a 5K (3.1-mile) course beginning and ending at or near the Navarre Soccer Complex.

The event is designed to be welcoming to runners and walkers of a variety of experience levels.

Course markings, directional signage, and volunteers/course marshals will help guide participants along the route.

A final course map and any race-specific instructions will be provided to registered participants as the event approaches.

Please stay on the designated course and follow the instructions of race officials, volunteers, law enforcement, and course marshals at all times.

  ARRIVAL & CHECK-IN

Please arrive early!

We recommend arriving between 4:00 and 4:15 PM.

Upon arrival:

• Park in a designated participant parking area.
• Proceed to the Monster Dash runner check-in area.
• Check in and receive any applicable race materials.
• Pick up your event T-shirt if you are among the first 100 registered runners and shirts are being distributed at check-in.
• Be near the starting area no later than 4:45 PM.
• Listen for the pre-race safety and course briefing.

Race-day registration may be available beginning at 4:00 PM, space permitting.

  PARKING

Parking will be available at and around the Navarre Soccer Complex.

Please follow all event signs and the instructions of parking volunteers when entering the complex.

Some parking areas may be reserved for Trunk or Treat vehicles, event staff, vendors, emergency vehicles, and volunteers.

Because we may have up to 75 decorated vehicles participating in Trunk or Treat, parking areas and traffic patterns may be different from a normal day at the complex.

Please arrive early and allow additional time for parking and walking to the registration/start area.

For everyone's safety, please do not park in fire lanes, along emergency access routes, or in areas marked as closed or reserved.

  WAIVERS & IDENTIFICATION

All participants must complete the required event waiver as part of registration.

Participants under 18 must have their registration and required waiver completed or authorized by a parent or legal guardian.

Please be prepared to provide identification at check-in if needed to verify your registration.

Participants registering on race day will be required to complete all applicable registration information and waivers before participating.

  WHAT TO BRING

We recommend bringing:

• Your registration confirmation
• Photo identification
• Water or your preferred hydration
• Comfortable running or walking shoes
• Any personal medications you may require
• A change of clothes if desired
• A small light, glow item, or reflective gear for after the race
• Your Halloween spirit!

Please clearly label personal belongings.

  WHAT TO WEAR

This is the Monster Dash, so costumes are encouraged!

Participants are welcome to run or walk in Halloween costumes, but safety comes first.

Costumes should:

• Allow you to see clearly.
• Allow you to run or walk safely.
• Not drag on the ground.
• Not contain sharp or dangerous objects.
• Not create a hazard for other participants.
• Be family-friendly and appropriate for an event attended by children.

Comfortable athletic shoes are strongly recommended.

Because activities will continue into the evening, reflective clothing, glow accessories, or lights are encouraged.

  BEST COSTUME CONTEST

Come dressed to impress—or scare!

Monster Dash participants will have the opportunity to compete in our Best Costume Contest.

Creativity is encouraged, but all costumes must remain family-friendly and safe for a youth-oriented community event.

  AFTER THE RACE: TRUNK OR TREAT!

Don't head home after crossing the finish line!

Stick around for the Monster Dash Trunk or Treat, featuring up to 75 decorated cars and trunks.

  RUNNERS, WALKERS & FAMILIES

Competitive runners, recreational runners, walkers, families, and first-time 5K participants are all welcome.

If you are walking the course, please start toward the rear of the starting group so faster runners can safely move ahead.

Strollers are welcome when safely operated. For everyone's safety, participants using strollers should begin toward the rear of the starting group.

Children participating in the 5K should remain appropriately supervised.

  WEATHER

The Monster Dash is scheduled to take place rain or shine unless weather or other conditions create an unsafe environment.

Race officials may modify, delay, or cancel portions of the event when necessary for participant safety.

Please check NYSA communications and social media before leaving for the event if severe weather is possible.
