About this event
Urticaria (hives) is a common dermatologic condition that can significantly impact patient comfort and quality of life. This self-paced e-learning module provides healthcare professionals with a practical introduction to the recognition, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic urticaria. Learners will explore the clinical features, underlying mechanisms, and common triggers associated with urticaria while developing skills to differentiate between its various presentations. The course reviews evidence-based diagnostic approaches, treatment options, and indications for specialist referral. Designed for nurses, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and other healthcare professionals, this module equips learners with the knowledge and confidence to provide effective, patient-centered care for individuals experiencing urticaria. Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. To earn continuing education credit, participants must complete the entire module and achieve a score of 80% or higher on the post-quiz. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded 0.5 ANCC contact hours.
