About this event
Professional accountability is a defining element of nursing leadership and extends beyond individual practice to the broader responsibility of upholding the integrity of the profession. This e-learning module, Stewards of the Profession: Advancing Accountability in Nursing Leadership, explores the ethical, legal, and regulatory foundations that guide accountable practice across healthcare systems. Learners will examine strategies for fostering accountability within teams and organizations while applying ethical frameworks to navigate complex clinical and operational dilemmas. The course also emphasizes the importance of mentorship and continuous professional growth in strengthening professional standards and sustaining trust in nursing practice. Designed for nurse leaders at all levels, this module reinforces accountability as an active leadership practice that supports safe, ethical, and high-quality. Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. To earn continuing education credit, participants must complete both the Nurse Leader pre-assessment and post-assessment. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded 1.0 ANCC contact hours.
