About this event
Impetigo is a common and highly contagious bacterial skin infection frequently encountered in primary care, urgent care, and pediatric settings. This self-paced e-learning module provides a practical introduction to the recognition, diagnosis, and management of impetigo. Learners will explore the clinical features of both non-bullous and bullous impetigo, gain an understanding of its epidemiology and pathogenesis, and learn to differentiate it from other skin conditions with similar presentations. The module also covers evidence-based diagnostic approaches, treatment options, and key patient education strategies to help prevent transmission and recurrence. Designed for nurses, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and other healthcare professionals, this course equips learners with the knowledge and confidence to assess and manage impetigo effectively in clinical practice. Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. To earn continuing education credit, participants must complete the entire module and achieve a score of 80% or higher on the post-quiz. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded 0.5 ANCC contact hours.
